Whole lotta labia.
[how ya feelin'? |chipperchipper]

I worked out 5 days the week before last and 5 days last week. Quite proud. I even got up Saturday morning to go running and God, it felt fantastic. I didn't weigh in last week because I'd had sushi for dinner on Friday and though I'm fairly sure I drank enough water to wash out the sodium, I couldn't stand the idea of getting up there and seeing the number up. So instead I just had a sensible eating day Friday, worked out quite well that morning, and went on with it. Friday night was a bit of a splurge since it was ST's party and we were all a bit food-nuts. Saturday was the running and man, it just put me right for the rest of the day. I had some cranky moments but they were those moments you always have when you expect others to read your invisible sign but.. y'know.. you forget to turn off the invisible part.

I ate like a pig Saturday, I know that. I'm ok with that. I also made some poor decisions on Sunday but not as bad as I could have. Sure, I had pancakes for breakfast and cheesecake for lunch, but I had two pancakes, not 5. I had two beignets, not 4. It was a splurge in the new style, not an old-style splurge. So that's nice. Monday I cleaned, ate well, and went to the gym. Tuesday it was back in the saddle. Good eating, gym in the morning, you name it. The scale showed me at exactly the same weight I was on Friday morning. So... not so good, but so much better than I could have done.

Anyway, it's been a few weeks of continued gym visits, I'm down 7lbs, and I seem to have reached the phase where a weekend of moderate splurging once every couple of months doesn't sink me anymore. Which is what I wanted. Now I just have to be patient.

So this morning it was 30min on the elliptical, a full round of upper body weights, and then 7 minutes on the treadmill at a 10min mile. Uh.. I miscalculated. I meant it to be 7min at a 6min mile with a minute of warm-up. Hi. I'm no so bright sometimes. I'm going to start doing little punches of really fast running just to try and work a different type of cardio. I usually do the cockroach approach, I think I need to start working in bits of jaguar. Eventually I'd like to break up bits of my weight-training with short bursts of really intense cardio. Might try that in early March.

The party was wonderful. It's great to look up and realize that you're surrounded by people you really like. And it was especially nice to get to see lilithfalling and congratulate her on the potential/maybe/theoretical job. *fingers crossed*

I wish I had other updates. But I don't. At least not any that don't make me look all neurotic and weird. So let's just go with this.. I am wonderful beyond measure, I am feeling healthier, the extra protein I've been getting is making my nails stronger, and I got to see Hellboy on Monday and absolutely loved it. Which means I can go read linaerys's stories now. Woot!

You guys?

Rilly? Coolness. Let me know if you need links, since I don't think I've tagged those yet.

I would love links, I keep thinking it was the beginning of last year but it would be nice not to have to go through the archives.

Dude, why did it take me so long to see this movie?

I have to warn you that I got a little fixated on Mr. Clockwork Evil, so all my stories involve him.

Rebirth involves many of the other characters as well, especially Abe, whom I loved. It's Niles! As a fish!

What did you particularly like about the movie? I loved the visuals, and Abe and the opening 10 minutes. Rasputin + evil machines + Nazis + the occult? Like Indiana Jones on CRACK. What could be better?

Re: So you haven't been abducted by aliens?

Here, just busy. I've been reading but not commenting and not posting. Just haven't really felt like it, nothing compelling. Plus I was in Portland at the beginning of last week so the last three days of the week were just nuts.

Steve had a big food and wine party last weekend and I couldn't really miss it. We watched a lot of Good Eats as well as a ton of other movies and we cooked like crazy people. Saturday morning we made Steve's phenomenal breakfast tacos with homemade tortillas. And then we played miniature golf in the house, had a lot of wine, told silly stories, and went shopping at the outlet mall. A divine weekend. There were like 20 people there so it was a general raucous good time.

I'm not sure when, actually. The beach trip is going to have to be scheduled for a different weekend and I'm booked through mid-June. So probably War Practice.

You're booked every weekend? Damn, that must be some kind of schedule. We'll at least see each other at GBS in April.

Say hi to Steve for me/us.

I'm home!

Yes... right now the idea of driving to Frederick, making shoes all day, driving another hour to Berkeley Springs and then two hours home looks as appealing as climbing Mt. Washington with my teeth. Not a criticism of the company, mind you, just a statement of how tired I am. I don't have the stamina I'm used to having, so I push and push and do stuff and then I'm just wiped out. Yesterday? Wiped me out.

Quite probably one more good night's sleep will fix it and by Thursday and the weekend I'll be all back to bouncy normal. At least that's my hope. So can we wait until closer to Sat. to decide this plan?

Boston was fine. Cold and windy, but I caught up with some friends from the silver box and with an old friend, so that was fun. But I wore myself out hauling bags and papers from place to place. Just tired.

We're trying to work out details for her to come over on Sunday morning and let me show her how to cut out the PPP dress, so she'll have something to wear with her new hat.
