Whole lotta labia.
[how ya feelin'? |beaten]

I swear, I almost totally do not mention my sleeping.

  • 6:22: Conversation with Kendrah includes the phrase "Chinese food."

  • 6:22:03 : OMG.. Chinese food. Must. Have. Could probably eat without yarfing!

  • 6:31: Kendrah waits patiently while I place order.

  • 6:31: Kendrah continues to wait while I make the surprised face at the nice Chinese food lady who says my card has been declined and I give her my Emergency Backup Visa With The Goldfish on It.

  • 6:35: Kendrah keeps me verbal company while I go across the street and check my balance at the ATM in the Safeway, conveniently it also houses a branch of my bank. This will come in handy at 6:37.

  • 6:36: "I gotta go." "Ok." "Like, now. I'll call you back." "Ok."

  • 6:37: "Excuse me, Ms. Nice Lady Teller Person, this afternoon when I checked my balance was $Money.45 and now it's -$1935.24??? Um..?????"

Turns out the check my father wrote me for my wedding present from my deceased grandfather (on their joint account set up several years ago as my grandfather's health began to decline) got held at the branch where I deposited it because it was an "unusual deposit" (made out to my married name, large amount of money). I knew this, they told me this when I deposited it. "Won't be available until Wednesday." Gotcha. I didn't care, it's going straight into savings until one of the cars dies and because it hadn't cleared yet it never even got added to my available balance. I not only hadn't spent any of it, I hadn't even thought about it.

However, the funds got held AGAIN at the back office because it was a different kind of unusual (out of state, large amount of money). My father's bank is being difficult and even though it's cleared on his side it didn't on mine and they took back both holds. Thereby kicking in not only the hold that would have brought my "collected funds" down to the amount of my "available funds" (i.e. the amount in my checkbook which never ever reflected the deposited check because HELLO IT HASN'T CLEARED YET) but also the other hold which now brings me into a MASSIVE negative balance.

She was very understanding about it, and has promised to credit me back the NSF fees that are going to add up while this gets cleared up. But people? My rent check is still hanging out there. *headdesk*

And now, the obligatory solipsistic slumber reference: As you can imagine, my sleep last night wasn't all I'd hoped it would be.

It's so completely fucked up that even depositing my paycheck tomorrow won't fix it. I give up, Heather. I just give the fuck up.

Also, I use my new Han WTF icon. Because it fits. Also, because I think the only thing that could fuck things up worse right now would be carbonite.

Ok, that made me smile.

Oh Dr. Cox, your living personification of my mood today makes me giddy like a schoolgirl.

Give it up, girl.

This is my current favorite:

Now I have images of you yelling at the bank lady, "HELP ME HELP YOU. HELP ME HELP YOU." :D

Jesus. This is the week of WTF, seriously.

As an apartment manager, I would suggest you call yours and let them know what happened. If there's a chance the check hasn't been deposited, then maybe they'll be willing to hold it. But if it already went to the bank, then at least they'll be informed if it bounces.

We like to know what's going on. It makes us feel important. :D

I just called her, thankfully I got her voicemail. I explained it and offered to give her a cashier's check when this all clears up to make her feel more comfortable about the funds being there, whatever she wanted. She's really quite fantastic so we'll see how this goes.

Hopefully this won't fuck up the paypal thing I sent you yesterday since those tend to take three or four days to clear my account but if it does here's the details: $29 of that was in Paypal, the rest came from my checking so even if something goes wrong you should still get almost enough to cover the shipping and the rest will come out when this clears up.

It all looks good on my end, but I'll keep an eye on my PayPal account over the weekend. If there's a problem, I'll let you know. But don't fret over it, hon. It's not going to strap me if that money disappears for a few days.

Deep breaths. It'll all work out. :D

It just makes me so mad because I wasn't even going to spend it. Dad had offered me Grandpa's car since mine is getting on in years and Steve's is even worse but it needed a whole bunch of work and I'd have had to drive it back from California so I said "Thanks but no thanks" and instead he gave me enough for a downpayment that would mean I could acutally replace one of the cars when it goes. This money was ALWAYS going to go straight into savings no matter what. I just want to look at them and say "You fucked stuff up for no good reason and I wasn't even going to SPEND that money."

Ok.. I'm done. I'm settling down now.

I would sure hope they're going to credit you the NSF fees; they should be repaying you for the fees everybody else smacks you with for bouncing checks as well. Idiots. "Hold the check" shouldn't mean "go in and withdraw what was never deposited. Twice."

Did you at least get your chinese? and was it what you wanted?

I was thinking about offering to treat for hibachi-japanese at the new place down the street, if you think you can eat it.

It looks like they paid the items and then just charged me NSF for it instead of sending it back.

As of 5 minutes ago there's a memo deposit amount that's $100 LESS than the check. Which is .. odd.. but at least I'm back in the positive. No word on the NSF funds yet and I'm still waiting for a call from the nice and charming Jenna, I'll keep you posted.

I did get my Chinese and it was damned near perfect. However, I made the mistake of calling my Dad to tell him what was up and he kept me on the phone for FREAKING EVER so I couldn't have my soup for fear of peeing it out all night. :) Translation? Lunch!

Japanese sounds great, I'll have beef or pork or something. Email me and we'll talk timing.

The word for this is a clusterf*ck. Yes. It's one of my favorite terms.

Did the not drinking after 7pm help at all?

It did. Sadly, after all that stuff I said yesterday about not having any trouble falling asleep I spent 40 minutes laying awake thinking about this bank stuff and not able to fall asleep. I'm hubris's bitch.

I crashed out around midnight and didn't get up again until 2:30, then slept from 2:30 to 5. A VAST improvement. I pushed the drinking limit off to 8 because i got home so late and I figured I'd push sleeping off until ll instead of 10 but tonight we'll make it 7:30 and see if that makes it even better.

that's what we ordered for lunch today, too, because TODAY IS CRAPPY.

i'd say that chinese food is the cure for everything. but if that's true... why are there so many angry chinese people? *g* (i'm so going to hell.)
