Whole lotta labia.

Ah now here's a thought.. why is it that when I go to read the first story in any new-to-me fandom I always feel a little bit uncomfortable? Is it that I fear it will be so terrible I won't enjoy the show/book/movie anymore? Is it that I feel somehow ashamed? It almost feels like ashamed. It's weird. I'm reading the story anyway, of course. And it is, by the way, total shit.

Um... posted nursery pics earlier. Have second childbirth class tonight and can only hope it's better than the first or Steve will be putting a pen through his eye and I will not be far behind. Pls be interesting, little class, our child deserves fully sighted parents.

I do that too, the discomfort thing. I've been lucky though, in that I've come across really good stuff quickly by way of recs on friendsfriends and such. And it's a real eye-opening pleasure of some sort to read stuff from a fandom in which I will never, ever write. Heh.

Mmm, class. Reward yourself with something fun or good afterward if it's horrible again. But no pens in eyes, please. The world needs both pen and eye.

There are fandoms I want to read, but I don't know where the good stuff is and the thought of random-reading terrifies me. Funny how much changes in so short a time. :D

That would be why I stick solely with recs. If I have to risk reading bad fic (as opposed to good fic that's just not my taste), I don't bother at all, and dammit I like fic! (Which I just discovered last month, after more than three years on the fringes of fandom, reading what my friends wrote--which was all good--but never seeking more.)

Has everyone met Jim? Hi Jim! :)

Hey.. I missed your birthday. I suck. But if you think you can make it to the event at Coopers in a couple of weeks I think I'll bring you some new garb as a belated present.

Yes, you did. But, on the bright side, a few more people remembered it this year than last. Next year, I hope to break a half-dozen.

I am planning on the June Cooper's event, at least for the weekend, probably be too busy to make a 3-day out of it.

Don't know about the rest of the Pub. Jeff has the airshow, and if he doesn't go, Concorde won't come down, Joe won't come, and John certainly won't make it up. So I'll be there, just not sure where, and without a "pub"

It is hard to find the good ones in all the bad. I found some Rockin' BSG fanfic which made me happy happy and also made me stay up WAY too late reading. I only seem to like to get into fanfic though when I'm totally obsessed with a show. I've been into fanfic for: Dawson's Creek, X-Files (which has so much fic out there it's insane!), BSG, The West Wing, Buffy, um.. is there more? I can't remember now.

Anyhoo, Only the shows I've gotten obsessive with. I'll be there's some good slash out there for Nip/Tuck. Christian and Sean have so much chemistry it's not even subtext. You know I don't normally go there, but I might have to look into that.

Have fun at birth class. I'm off to get a cheap umbrella stroller!
