So.. it's Tuesday, right? Right.
We had grand plans for last night but I always forget how bad the allergy attacks from the dust just wipe me out. I know, I know, take a Claritin.. well it's too late now. Anyway.. Matt finished packing and I got some of the nasty cleaning bits done. We'll have to go back over either Wednesday or Friday (probably Wednesday) and patch up the picture hanger hole in the wall, rehang that one set of curtains, and scrub up some of the worst of the wall markings. And then we're done and outta there. \o/
(I'm overusing the \o/, aren't I?)
After we got home I made dinner in my own kitchen (!!) and then we putzed about a bit. I made the mistake of trying to take a bath after running a bunch of laundry and ended up with the most miserable lukewarm bath. Wouldn't have been so bad but it's FREEZING outside at night these days. So I just kinda shuddered and felt like a dork. The upside is that the girly bath stuff I got from starfishchick was very very nifty while the heat lasted. *kisses on her head*
I eventually crawled in to bed and Matt joined me not long after. We fell asleep and I slept like a baby. I feel so much better today. SO much better.
Matt's first disability check is on it's way. We know how much he's going to be getting. Now I can start making contingency plans and budgeting and the like. And he'll have money of his own. This has been a rough month. He goes back in for his next appointment on the 27th and we're both hoping for good news. In the mean time his office has my number and will call us if there are any light duty assignments coming up.
Our phone gets turned on tomorrow (I hope) after having been delayed. I called yesterday and was like "Yo. 'Sup?" And they were all "Chill, bitch." (Fandom version: "I say there, Verizon Local and Long Distance, where away?" "Which it will be ready when it is ready!") We're going to be on dial-up for the forseeable future (I refuse to torture myself by even calling to see if high-speed is available when I know we can't afford it until at least June) and no cable for at least another month. Le sigh.
Tonight is dinner with Caitlin and then when I get home I'm probably going to break down boxes (they're doing that Jenga thing in the corner of the living room right now, it's time to break some down) and try to consolidate some of the other boxes. I might take a stab at some of the things in my closet. I might just take it easy and do nothing for a while. I've earned that too.
And now, for the most pointless thing ever. I went shopping for curtain fabric at lunch. My mother gives me gift cards for the big local fabric store every year as a Christmas present. They usually don't get spent until August (my customary fabric buying time) but this year I need curtains.. there's no point in buying them in a store when I can make properly fitting ones cheaper (and get to hang out with Cait at the same time). The fabric I liked best in the store was red-tagged as clearance and THEN marked down 40%. I got an entire room of curtains (that's 12 yards of sheers) for less than $50. WOO! Go me! I have felled the mighty beast! (sorta)
I celebrated by also getting a suntea pitcher.
slightlytricky there is fic on the way to you. Poke it for me. I can't make it move.
berreh, remember when I said "Ask me again on Wednesday." You can ask me now.
kiltsandlollies can I borrow Tom's toy Acheron?
marginalia ... *poke*
magickalmolly you made me go all blushy with your comment last night. :)
Wow. It's 4:40. How did that happen? Oh, in other news. I've misplaced my housewarming present from K. It's a CD of western swing, a book of erotic poetry, and flavored lube. I hope my landlord doesn't find it while painting the basement. God only knows what she'll think Matt and I are up to in the house.
