Whole lotta labia.
[how ya feelin'? |melancholymelancholy]

Saturday was lovely food-wise. I was low on my veggies but didn't overeat with the rest of the food. It sucked for exercise though since the most I got was a slow meander around the fabric store but oh well. I got some lovely new programs downloaded for doing while in Jamaica.

Yesterday I managed to blow every single one of my points for the day at dinner. Worth every one. The mussels were fine, but since I drank more points in Guinness than I ate in mussels it was clearly a "work the system" meal. Also, next time I reach for the third slice of bread I reserve the right to smack myself.

I spent an hour at the gym before dinner doing the cardio I'd missed on Saturday. Went back this morning for 35min. and some light arms as I was running a few minutes late. Plus, the last 20min of cardio on Sunday had been running with the most excruciating side stitch I've ever had and I guess I hadn't realized how hard I'd been gripping the heart rate sensors in order to take some of the pressure off until this morning when my shoulders and neck ached. Blah.

Food today will be the usual with a round of sushi for dinner with E and the Ham Girls in Federal Hill. Note to self: Soy sauce is NOT a food group. Take it easy, use the low sodium, try not to derail a great week of progress by retaining Sea World at the weigh-in tomorrow.

The weekend was lovely, Caitlin fitted me for a real live documentable dress. Is coolest thing ever. Is very tight. Is possible to wear this dress without a bra and not go all floppy. Happy.

Matt came home tired and frustrated Saturday night because his big practice down in VA had been rained out after only three fights. He's feeling encourated about his fighting but really down in general. I'm not sure what I can do to help but I know I hate the idea of going out of town next week and leaving him in funk.

The weekend was capped by a fantastic meeting with minervacat who made me laugh hysterically and smile a lot and who I already miss. Girlie, Matt says come back soon and come see the house.. he promises to cook. (This is a good thing.)

And now I'm off to the Jamaican Embassy downtown in DC. I hate these trips with a flaming passion. Anyone who wants to call and keep me entertained is more than welcome.

OMG Come back and we'll go sit in smoky bars and eat seafood and talk about fandom and sex some more. Please. Don't make me go deal with the embassy again. *sob*

Jamaica would be okay, if it was the good bit.

*kidnaps you off to Bertha's for beers and crabcakes*

But it's not it's this horrible scary place. If I went to Chicago they'd never know the difference, would they? I mean.. you and I could sit there and drink and take the GMAT like 35 times and pretend I was working. It would be cool!

They totally wouldn't know the difference, except that my lousy GMAT scores might give us away.

You should still come here. We can sit on the roof of my office building and drink the office beer and gossip, and my boss will come out occasionally and give us cigarettes. It will be excellent.

I'm sorry that you have to go to Jamaica, M., now that I know you don't like it. I spent a couple of years there one week working until 3am every night, when I was doing software installations and upgrades. Downtown Kingston is a scary place. And there's just nothing like walking around the corner to a darker hallway in an empty library and standing there watching the "floor" moving. yech.

Hope it's a quick trip. If I could write you a note and get you out of it, I would.

It's nice to have someone who doesn't assume that Jamaica means "sandy warm beaches and foofy drinks." Because I am, in fact, going to Kingston and just the drive to the hotel at night scares me. Especially when our cabdriver is drunk. And I have to deal with their customs people. *le sigh*

Thanks for commiserating with me. :)

are you staying at the Hilton...or what used to be the Hilton? If so, you should go for the concierge level, where a nice man in a starched white jacket will make you gin and tonics until you fall over.

how long are you there for sweetie? no too long, I hope.

We're at the Pegasus, which maybe used to be the hilton.. There's another hilton there now just three driveways up. We're in the biiiiig tall one that's on a compound and that makes me happy. If we're not on the cushy floor I'm upgrading. If I have to be stuck inside from Sunday to Thursday morning I want to be stuck inside somewhere good. :)

I love how the hotel web pages don't really show you any pictures. and how they list nearby attractions.

jesu god. They conveniently forget to mention that police in Kingston are armed with AK-47s and that the people (mostly Europeans) riding around in Rolls Royces are brushing past people (mostly Afro-Caribbeans) with rags tied to their bodies for clothing.

Although, it was fun going to Taco Bell and buying lunch for my clients because it came to about $1000, which makes your brain go a squeezy for a minute until you remember the exchange rate. :) And the Red Stripe beer is pretty good, too.

This was my actual result: You Are Late Period!
You Are Late Period Western European Nobility.
Nothing excites you more than looking sharp,
even if it breaks your bank or causes you heat
stroke in the middle of summer. Be sure to
drink lots and lots of water, because it can
get rather warm under 8 layers of velvet and
brocade!

But I wanted it to be this:

You Are An SCA Fringie!
You Are An SCA Fringie Of Unspecified Origin (aka,
"Pirate")! You come to events to
party and drink and get laid, hiding behind a
thin veneer of legitimacy by occassionally
serving on Court or kissing the right arse.
Your household/ship has probably been barred
from events at least once in the past, but
somehow you manage to bounce back. Staging
drunken revels is your best talent, which
probably explains why the Royalty keep you
around and let you slide by with the wild
orgies and all.

I've been trying to forget it's happening. *sigh*

I leave Sunday morning yee gods early and get back Thursday night at like 9. I should have internet access while I'm there but we'll see. OMG, Collette, I don't want to go. :(

The worst is that it's making me miss most of the local SCA group's Novice Tournament in Upper Marlboro. Close by, good site, fun people, can't go. Suckage.
