My weigh-in yesterday showed that I'd FINALLY managed to lose the weight I put on at Pennsic. I ate pretty responsibly for the rest of the day and managed to pick my way around some of the grenades in the dinner my father and stepmother made last night. I explained myself ahead of time and made sure no one would get their feelings hurt. Worked like a charm.

This morning was another long gym morning. Most irritating thing in the gym? Sweaty grunters using the machine you want. Second worst? Not realizing you're on a faulty machine until you've been on it for a while. After I program in the various bits and pieces of datay it needs, I flop my magazine over the display on the elliptical so I can't sit there and count the seconds. Which means I'd probably been on it for about 5 minutes before I realized it had shut down about 5 seconds into the workout. No wonder it felt so easy. I switched to another machine and did about 27 minutes, then a brisk 20 minute walk on the treadmill. I did some REALLY satisfying upper body weights and then finished with an easy 20 minute run on the treadmill and about 6 minutes on the stairclimber of death.

The weigh-in showed me down a little bit from yesterday. I expect that to go up tomorrow but should be ok if I don't over-do it over the weekend.

cussata and I are doing a training run on Saturday and then I might hit the gym near her house as well. I'll go for sure Sunday morning. There's a Gold's about 5 miles away and it would be good to keep the momentum going. Training run? Oh yeah! We're doing a Turkey Trot in November near her house. I've always wanted to do a Turkey Trot run and just never managed it with travel and holidays and stuff but this year we're makin' it happen.

I'm also doing a 5k in October, two weeks before the BWC day with an old running partner. She and I did our first road race together and we've got the same slow-as-dirt-but-faster-than-walking-----maybe speed. I'm looking forward to it.

Today's eating is on track. I had a bite of banana before the workout and a sleeve of Fruities.. I need to have some breakfast pretty quick here or I'm going to get hungry and cranky. Tonight is dinner at home so there are no land mines waiting for me in the schedule. We'll have big fat salads with some grilled chicken and be happy as clams.

There is no BWC today. Sweeeet.

In other news? slightlytricky is very cute, even when her hotel shuttle is thwarting her.

omg she was waving at us and talking on the phone, looking so paniced i thought we were in a bombing scare...

btw? burger? 2 out of 5. 1 point of that was my own fault. i mixed up medium well with medium rare.

I like that gym plan. Light running, Upper body, bit more running, and then some stairs.

I think I'll steal that for tomorrow.
