Whole lotta labia.
Other things making my day just fantastic.

  • Return of the random nosebleeds. Two at my father's yesterday and one on the drive home. Another one this morning.

  • My nose is so completely stuffed up that it's waking me up at night because I'll roll over and close my mouth and then not be able to breathe. I get these wretched headaches from it. I'm not sick, there's no cough or sinus pain or body aches or any of my normal "and now I'm sick" shit. Just this. Which smacks of this. But I'm not diagnosing myself, I have an appointment next week and I can check with the doctor. I love the "at least six weeks, possibly until the end" part though. Splendid.

  • This morning it was four fucking degrees out.

  • The new HR director has decided that the company should give semi-annual reviews instead of annual reviews. Which means that I get another review this week. It was supposed to be two weeks ago, then last week, now my boss says that the Managing Director "hasn't had time to sign stuff" so who knows. Bossman is reorganizing the department to include a new employee type. Business Analysts will theoretically review specs, make sure they're complete, document appropriately, keep up the documentation in the client folders, and manage the order tracking system. The shit work. They will also be the first against the wall when the next corporate reorg happens. Apparently some of the existing staff will be pure project management, some will be PM/BA, and some all BA. As you can imagine, I am filled with hope and warm fuzziness.

If I just keep my head down and do some work it will be 5:30 soon and I can go home, shoot some saline up my nose, and try to sleep.

just so's ya know... i used to get terrible, random nosebleeds growing up in colorado because of the dry weather. membranes break, noses bleed, membranes dry out again, scabs bleed again... it's a vicious cycle. and some were so awful, my mom considered taking me to a hospital.

when she asked my doctor about it, he told her (us) to put neosporin in the nostrils just before bed and again in the morning if you can feel it's drying out in there. it will help keep things from drying out, will help heal the dry skin faster, and will kill any nasty bacteria that may be in there.

good luck. and i'm sorry for you about everything else i have no solutions for. :(

I have heard that neti pot use is good for nosebleeds caused by cold/dry weather. I have no idea if they're any use for pregnancy rhinitis, though.

the saline works for me, but remembering is the tricky part. usually i remember when blood starts pouring out of my face, generally in public. which is really terribly attractive. this seems to happen to so many people i know, and yet i never -see- it happen to anyone else, and so i feel like a bleeding freak.

Humidifiers are problematic, can get fungus and bacteria in them. I do the el cheapo thing and hang up wet bath towels in my bedroom - I can definately tell when it is too dry in the house when big towels dry by morning.
