Whole lotta labia.
Oh crap, it's catch-up time.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving. A good drive down, a loooooong drive back but with a side trip to see Lizzies and Lala and have them blessed by TBD. Chloe was great on the trips. Steve sat in the back with her and they played together while she was awake and he'd calm her when she startled herself awake and so we managed to keep to our timetable and only stopped when the grown-ups wanted to stop. She nursed while we got gas and since we were both in need of food and leg-stretching we all got out of the car and had dinner together. It was fantastic. Googlemaps said the trip should take 8 hours. We had two 15 minute gas stops and a half hour dinner stop and made it down there in 9.5 (extra half hour was traffic at the end of the DC HOV lanes) a raging success and a testament to how great it is to be married to the world's most wonderful road trip partner. Not only will he go anywhere with me, he's interesting on the drive and he loves to talk and play with the baby. He taught us both about the Hundred Years War and wiggled that little stuffed firefly until I was sure his wings were going to fall off.

The trip back wasn't so nice because the traffic was much much worse but the baby was a doll and even the diaper issue we had in the first 45 minutes happened on a gas stop so it didn't derail us. She's an angel and we're really lucky. The side trip to see girlies in NC was time well spent and we even got home in time to get some unpacking done. She's been sleeping really well since then, too, so I think the time away did her good.

While down there we saw Beowulf in 3D, had lunch at Margaritaville, and went to see the aquarium. It was amazing and it reminded me of T when she was very little saying Ok.. two things were 'mazing at the 'quarium, with her little hand on her hip. Because the weather was so incredible we even got to swim outside and so we took advantage of the grandparent babysitting system and we spent a good two hours going around and around the lazy river ride and then soaking in the hot tub. Divine.

Thanksgiving dinner was lovely and because we ate out the only leftovers we had were ones we'd bought ahead of time. Mmm.. turkey sandwiches.

Then, of course, my birthday. I'm very, very old now, children. Steve said What do you want for dinner on Wednesday? I said Indian food. He asked if I didn't want something grander because after all, it's not every year a girl turns 30. o.O He said he thought maybe I'd want to do that thing where I shave a few years off and he was just helping out. No thank you, really. I love 33. I wouldn't take back the last year at all.. except maybe for April and May. Which sucked. Donkey balls. Every second.

Anyway.

OH! And my fantastic husband got me? A serger. A SERGER! All of my sewing is on natural fibers with most being on linen which just shreds like a bitch so a serger rocks my world. I'd been frenching seams but my life is just too short. I did a happy dance. He even promised to hang out with her in the room with me while I sew. It's a nice mix of time with the girl but time with my hands free. Good husband biscuit. He also got me a replacement stone for Stanley. It's higher quality than the original and is just gorgeous.

Chellies gave me the choice to do something just for me. The nicest present ever. Plus, there are still pressies yet to come from my mommy so it's like Mellypalooza goes on for weeks!

TBD has found her thumbs, her toes, her toys, the secret to rolling over, and the ability to sleep on her belly. It's been a big few weeks for her, too. She's got her own blog to keep the grandparents updated. I'm pretty sure she'll kill me later, but I don't mind.

I've been dancing at home in the evenings and hitting the gym at lunch, I start back to my pole dancing classes next week, I get two days home with the girl, one this week and one next, and it's due to snow tomorrow. So.. y'know.. life is not bad. Oh, and my office is changing phone plans, so I get a new phone. I picked a pink one. I have no shame.

Every year around this time I think "I should have a new Christmas icon." And then I remember how much I love this one. *happy sigh*

How are you guys?

My boss has turned into a raging asshat, but I have a cunning plan and she'll never know what hit her.

And I'm still hanging out with that Sailor I go on and on about. Mellies? I like him a very big lot. just sayin'. Also? In 38 days I'm meeting him in Vegas for a thoroughly debauched weekend. Plus we're going to Spamalot. score!

I'm half done with my Christmas cards, half done with my Christmas shopping, half done decorating my house, and half done cleaning my house. How do I let these things happen?

Also? I'm putting myself and the world on notice that between now and December 31? I'm losing weight. I'm sick of this plateau bullshit. The time is now, &etc.

Kisses for my Melly and TBD and ST if'n he wants one. ♥
