It was hard to look at because I actually had a rather unpampered upbringing in my own mind, especially after the divorce. But this was.. oddly uncomfortable.

there was a point in my childhood where it shifted from blissful unawareness of the fact that we were poor to my nose being regularly ground in it. so for me this exercise ended up being like. more of the same. that's how it felt, even though i am pretty sure nobody reading it would ever do so or even think that way about me. childhood neuroses are the hardest to beat.
