Whole lotta labia.
I started with a four and change pound weight loss on Friday morning. Woot! And then I got a lovely kind of "girls day" on Saturday as ST was off teaching and fighting at Aethelmearc War College in Morgantown. He seemed to have a lovely time and got to see his brother and friends AND teach a class he loves. TBD and I lolled about in bed for a while. I nibbled on her thighs, she pulled my hair. She put her fingers in my nose, I sniffed her neck. Like that.
Eventually we got out of bed only to realize it was still fairly early. I'm not going to lie and say I don't miss my weekend lie-ins, but I do like never feeling like a weekend has been wasted, our days start at 7 and you can get a lot done by noon if you put your mind to it. I basically saved up all of my errands and we had a day full of field trips in the nice air conditioned car. We took a trip to the store for needful stuff before her morning nap and then afterwards the liquor store (see previous entry) where we laid hands on a really terrifying amount of grain alcohol.. particularly if you've got a baby in a sling. Then some quick groceries for the day, a stop in at the Big Lots for a new bluetooth headset (I'm loving it), and then the Home Depot. I know, we're super girly on our girly days. I found the perfect piece of glass to go in her window next to the a/c unit though, so we scored. Plus she stared longingly at the palm sanders as we went by, which means I'm raising her right.
She had a nice afternoon nap and I put away groceries, cleaned up, farted around on the internet, did some laundry, all that good stuff. We even put some laundry on the line. The thermostat showing the outside temp kept creeping higher and higher and eventually I made a command decision to get a separate unit to put in her room and keep one in the dining room as well, also to abandon the idea of going to the pool or park. Just too fucking hot, humid, and nasty out. We ended up having to go out to Mt. Airy for the unit but we got the exact one I wanted and she seems happy with the white noise.
ST got home around 8:30, crispy with sunburn but happy to see his girls. We talked about Pennsic, we kissed a lot, we went to bed. Not like that! Perverts.
On my sleep-in-Sunday I curled up in bed until just before 9, oh luxury of luxuries. We spent the day doing laundry, cleaning up, running a few last minute errands, putting together a menu for the week and the subsequent shopping list. I did some dancing and sewing and we put together the jogging stroller with an eye towards some late afternoon walks later in the summer. Just a really nice lazy but productive kind of day. It was the last weekend of unstructured time I've got until September so I enjoyed every second.
I turned in my notice at the office last week. They were really nice about it and seemed genuinely upset that I'd leave. I've got a meeting with the new bosses this Thursday so I took the whole day off. I'm going to take TBD in to see ST's morning class and then head off to the long lunch meeting. After that I'm going to nap. Mmm.. nap. I'll post more about the job and the details after that lunch. I'm still feeling kinda boggled by the whole thing so I don't feel 100% like talking about it yet.
For real giggles you should have seen us last night. Right after we put the baby to bed we started noticing this weird smell in the house. Not in the whole house, just in the area around the front door. We checked outside (we live on a farm, weird smells are par for the course and the first place to check is ALWAYS outside) but no joy. We sniffed the fridge, nothing in there. I even checked the diaper pail and took out the trash. For some reason the foyer continued to smell like bad chicken. Once we satisfied ourselves that it wasn't a gas leak we figured it might just be a dead mouse in the attic and resolved not to mention it again. But once we turned off the a/c in the main part of the house it got so bad it woke ST up. He dug around until he found it and put the offending object outside to stink up nature and came back to bed. The culprit? The jump box/air compressor/emergency outlet he usually keeps in his trunk and which we were using to inflate the tires on the jogging stroller.
Yeah. I know. I have no idea either.
How are you guys?
