Whole lotta labia.
Today is Pure Domesticity at the Melly and ST Homestead.

It's St's sleep in day so I got up with TBD (who has decided, bless her fuzzy little heart, that 8am is a good time to wake up. Hell yeah.) and we went grocery shopping. Various things I wanted were on sale at various places so we hit three different stores and had breakfast in the parking lot and basically had a great time until it was time for her morning nap and then hightailed it home to snuggle a bit and let her snooze. And then? The cooking.

We made

  • A huge pot of vegan chili. Mmm.. soy crumbles. It's actually really good, we're having some for dinner tonight. Even TBD approves.

  • A big tray of Chicken Enchilada Lasagna which has already been portioned out, marked with a Sharpie, and frozen.

  • A crock pot full of Pork Chili Verde.

  • Marinade for Apple Rosemary Pork loin (are you getting an idea of what was on sale this week?)

I've got stuff for other fantastic kinds of dinner all ready to go and flagged in the cookbook. Now it's just a matter of finding the right side dishes. We're going to do baked sweet potatoes for tomorrow and now I'm hiding out on Pioneer Woman's side dish section and thinking about ricotta roma tomatoes and crash baked potatoes. Nom indeed.

The lovely girl is down for her afternoon nap right now so I think we'll have some cleaning and then some sewing. Bloomer time!

What are you guys up to?

Stayed up all night yesterday (for a good reason!), now listening to Jazz, and trying to pull myself together to get some chores and such done.

Probably quiet night tonight.

Had a yard sale this morning and made about $40. It was the kids idea, they've been wanting to have one for about a month. They cleaned out their closets and toys and motivated me to do the same. We spent yesterday baking chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies and brownies for them to sell with lemonade. They made about $5. I gave the kids $6 each, and after the $10 for the ad in the paper, I cleared $12. One of my friends brought her stuff and made more, but it wasn't a bad hang out morning.

I finally went for the massage that my best friend Laura (known her since college) gave me for my birthday back in April.
Then had dinner with Laura, then Starbucks and then a mercy mission of figuring out how to fix her ironing board cover thingie.
Twas a loverly day.

Miss yer face..and TBD and ST's faces too.
