Whole lotta labia.
The weekend was nice and quiet and domestic.  I've needed one of those lately.  Cussata sat with TBD on Friday (poor thing running a fever and just generally icky) and then we had a girls' night at the pub.  She crashed with us and the next morning was breakfast and fabric (Jo-Ann's had all their clearance an additional 50% off so we scored some fun cottons and a super secret surprise fabric that is going in Chloe's garb and will be adorable.

After that we hit the library to sift through patterns and see what would be next on our plates as far as projects.  Found some cute ones and got them scanned in last night so the books can go back to the library.  We're turning so much stuff back in at once that I'm afraid they'll think we don't like them.  But really, 40 things checked out was a little ridonkulous.

I got it in my head to do a stacked coins quilt with the fantastic Sip of Summer fat 8ths I got on Friday (yay for gift cards!).  It's so fast and easy to put together that I got the top constructed and finished by Saturday night and so set down to quilting.  There was some fabulous yellow quilting thread in that same package so I thought yellow would be a good choice.  I picked a meandering ribbon pattern which is easy but  time consuming and will involve a lot of clean up.  But the quilting is done and now I have to think about what to bind it with.  Maybe a dark purple, just for the pop.

I think next I might do another fast one just to make use of the pieces of blue Delft Remix that I already cut (and sometimes pieced) and then hated together (note to self, all medium prints in the same color just looks like a mess from 5 feet).

In the mean time I'm doodling freehand patterns at work. And dreaming about my simple circle quilt to come.  I have no idea what I want to do it out of.  Possibly the charm squares of the green Delft Remix.  Possibly out of the lovely purple florals that Steve likes.  Possibly, if they're as easy as they look, particularly with a blanket stitch,  I'll make 8 of them out of things I like and scatter them to the four winds.  Project Linus or Books and Blankies or  Project Melly's Friends Deserve Nice Things.

So, that's that.  Productive and domestic and quiet.  But with beer and shopping.  Oh, and I get my first paycheck on Friday.  Don't think I'm not just vibrating waiting for it.  It's already spent on the car payment and propane bill but still, to know that there will be money coming *after* that is just so nice.

Yay for the crafty! Are you by chance, coming up for Midwinter? I'm trying to decide if I should go... it's at John's this year so that's a different thing. Thoughts?
