That first and last paragraphs are amazing... and of course their musical partnership is one of my favourite aspects of their relationship.

This piece gives me the feeling that there's a lot of stuff that you're not saying. Which is good.

It's weird.. I didn't think much about this until you said something. The reality is that things are staying unsaid in multi-character pieces because I'm trying hard not to do too much until things really get going with Jaci since she's in charge of Stephen. So it really wasn't an on-purpose thing.

But now that you mention it.. It strikes me that maybe one night one of them was bold enough to request a specific piece.. perhaps after a concert Jack says "We should try that after dinner tomorrow."

But more than that.. I think probably every time one of them requests a piece it opens up something about them to the other.

"Oh, he likes that piece? I never would have thought him so daring."

or

"It's so quiet and calm.. rather unlike his normal self."

I think.. I think after I get the Evenings with the Captain CD I might doing a series of vignettes based on each song.

(Which is a bit like poor Sue Grafton saying "I think I'll do a book for each letter of the alphabet." I'll regret it later.)

*showers you with hugs* Thank you. :)

That, right there? Is why you are brilliant.

Which is totally why I thought you wrote it that way.

When the ship is nicely under weigh maybe you could come down to the Captain's cabin.. y'know... just for a talk. ;)
